Saigon Tourist

Saigon Tourist ((ベトナム語:Tổng Công ty Du lịch Sài Gòn)) is a state-owned enterprise headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It owns and manages hotels, restaurants and runs guided tours in southern Vietnam as well as throughout central Vietnam.
Saigon Tourist owns a large number of hotels in Ho Chi Minh City, including the Caravelle Hotel, Rex Hotel, Hotel Continental, Saigon, Hotel Majestic.
It also owns two hotels in the north (Hanoi and Hạ Long City) as well as several hotels in cities throughout central Vietnam, including Vinh, Đồng Hới, Huế, Da Nang, Quy Nhơn, Nha Trang, Phan Rang, Mũi Né, and Da Lat.

Saigon Tourist was set up just after the end of the Vietnam War to take charge of many of Saigon's hotels and restaurants.〔Gainsborough 2010, 36〕
It diversified somewhat in the 1990s, but mainly remained focused on its core businesses in the hotel, tourism, and entertainment sectors, which were growing rapidly.〔 It also developed interests in banking and distribution, becoming the leading shareholder in the joint-stock commercial bank Oricom Bank and the distributor of Ford in Vietnam.〔Gainsborough 2010, 37〕
In 1995, Saigon Tourist was the seventeenth largest company by turnover in Ho Chi Minh City.〔
